If you want to scan your face and have your character in 2K22 MT Buy look like you, you'll need a device that can run the MyNBA 2K22 app.  As of the time of writing this article, the app has not yet been made available in the Google Play or Apple App stores, but it is expected to do so within a few days after passing through the usual approval processes.  Once you've downloaded the app, open it and log in using your PSN, Xbox Live, Steam, or Nintendo account information.  Look for the Face Scan tab on the home screen and tap on it.  You'll be presented with a set of terms and conditions, which you must accept in order to proceed with the process.

NBA 2K22 is finally here, and it's time for fans to make the transition from the previous title to the new one.  In addition to roster updates and quality-of-life improvements, new adventures await players in the form of MyPlayer and The City modes.

While some players will enjoy jumping right into the action, others may prefer to take their time when creating their characters.  Customizing a character can take hours, especially if you're attempting to model your character after yourself.  There is, however, a way to expedite this procedure.  NBA 2K22, like its predecessors, allows players to scan their faces, resulting in characters that look exactly like the players in real life.

Follow the instructions that will appear on your screen.  The app will ask you to scan your face from various angles, and the entire process will take less than a minute.  After you've finished scanning your face, you'll be able to upload the results to 2K's servers.  When you have successfully uploaded the scan, return to NBA 2K22 and proceed to the player creation page.  The scanned image of your face should appear on the screen.  If you are unable to see your face in myteam points after using the app, you may need to repeat the scanning process.  However, make sure that you have a stable internet connection while uploading the image to the servers.

On the MyPlayer side of things, Visual Concepts has provided players with a plethora of interesting activities in NBA 2K22.  Following the jump, you can begin running around The City, completing quests and interacting with NPCs. . . like Jake from State Farm.  It's a ridiculous world where your soon-to-be pro baller can just skateboard around to his heart's content (complete with ludicrous skating physics), go to the gym for some weightlifting mini-games, and then get in a 3-on-3 game against other elite players.  So far, the story mode appears to have been scaled back in comparison to last year, but it is still early and it is impossible to predict how some of the off-court action will affect the mode.

After a little more than a day with it, NBA 2K22 is at the very least shaping up to be a significant step forward following the disappointing 2K21 launch.  I'm still early in my time with the game, so my opinions may change as I learn more about what has and hasn't changed.  However, I'm optimistic that the gameplay tweaks I've already come to appreciate, as well as all of the different options Visual Concepts has provided me to take advantage of them, will hold up over time.  Although the system is not capable of producing one-to-one replicas, it can be surprisingly accurate at times.
